Kathe Kruse stands by hand made craft work a principle they have never left. It was around Christmas 1905 when Kathe Kruse's daughter Maria asked for a doll she could care for and play with, a doll like a real baby. But all the dolls in the shops were stiff and cold. Kathe Kruse decided to make the doll herself. She took a soft towel, some sand as filling and a potato as a head and the first doll was born. Maria Mimerle loved this doll. The hand follows the heart. Only the hand can make, what is made through the hand goes back to the heart. Tradition means for us to carry safety, trust, lifestyle and values into the future. We put all our love and experience into the elaborate making of our dolls, toys and children's fashion. A lot of our work is done by hand. By playing with our products and by wearing our fashion the love we put into our products is passed on to the children and this you can feel.
